
I am Dr Andrew Mitchell, Consultant Cardiologist at Jersey General Hospital, St. Helier, Jersey and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, England. I provide cardiology care and advice for public and private patients in Jersey and pacemaker and implantable device services for patients across the Channel Islands.
I am experienced in the management of all common acute and chronic cardiac conditions with particular expertise in the management of patients with heart rhythm disorders, heart failure and patients with coronary heart disease.
As a consequence of my work into the management of atrial fibrillation, I was awarded an MD thesis by the University of London and awarded the Fellowship of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) in 2004. In 2007 I was the only cardiologist in the British Isles to be awarded Fellowship of the American College of Cardiology (FACC).
I have published over 120 papers, articles, reports, abstracts, books and book chapters. I am listed in Marquis Who's Who in the World 2007, Who's Who of Emerging Leaders 2007 and Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare 2004 to 2005.
I am fully trained in all necessary aspects of modern practical cardiology and have personally perfomed over 1000 diagnostic cardiac catheterization and over 100 implantable cardioverter-defibrillator procedures. My sub-speciality skills include advanced echocardiography (transoesophageal and intracardiac).
