Patients across the Channel Islands with implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) can now benefit from a monthly dedicated ICD clinic in Jersey hospital. WIth extra time and a mulitdisciplinary team approach, the number of visits to the hospital for each patient should reduce.

The hospital has also started to develop a remote-monitoring service for patients with ICDs. A small box is plugged into the phone line at home and the ICD automatically communicates information such as ECGs, battery status and any device concerns to the Jersey team via the internet.
